Welcome to Timberscombe First School!

We are part of the Moorland Federation group of schools. As such we are all very proud to put children at the heart of all our decision making. We share an Executive Head, Mrs Naomi Philp, with the other four schools in our federation: Exford C of E First School, Cutcombe C of E First School, Dunster First School and St Dubricius C of E First School.  This means we can pool our strengths to ensure the children get the richest experience possible.  We are very proud of the Christian aims and values on which our school is based and we aim to provide an exciting and engaging education for each and every child.

As a staff we feel privileged to work with young, enthusiastic learners and want to make their time with us as exciting and productive as possible.  We believe that children thrive in a positive environment where there is an ethos of nurture with respect for the individual, and unlimited hopes and aspirations for each of their bright futures.  We aim to be a school where all people feel welcome and valued and where all our children can develop the life skills and learning habits necessary for personal success and happiness.

'We Love, Live and Learn Together'

As a Church of England school we are proud to support the vision for education:

Educating for wisdom, knowledge and skills: enabling discipline, confidence and delight in seeking wisdom and knowledge, and developing talents in all areas of life.

Educating for hope and aspiration: enabling healing, repair and renewal, coping wisely when things go wrong, opening horizons and guiding people into ways of fulfilling them.

Educating for community and living well together: a core focus on relationships, participation in communities and the qualities of character that enable people to flourish together.

Educating for dignity and respect: the basic principle of respect for the value and preciousness of each person, treating each person as a unique individual of inherent worth.

If you are looking for a school in the area please do get in touch so we can help guide you in finding the right educational setting and environment for your child.

What do I do if my child is prescribed medication?

If your child needs to have medication at school you must complete a form at the school office. We ask that medication at school is kept to a minimum and if antibiotics are prescribed for less than four times a day we suggest this can be organised out of school time. All medication held on school premises is kept locked and secure.
